While I find it very amusing that a billionaire from Edmonton wants to but the team and do everything in his power to help the team win....do we need it?
1. A new arena?...Edmonton will have 17,000 fans at Rexall most games this year...can't get a lot better than that. More of a draw?...for who....we gots lots a fans.
2. He's going to spend to the CAP? I like to think the ownership group in place now will spend to the CAP to help the team win.
With the new CBA in place, its not about the money anymore, everyone is going to spend to the CAP if necessary. It's about the fans, and we have them...some of them just happen to have ten gagillion balillion jillion dollars. So, I really can't see anything BAD about having a man richer than Oprah, and a huge fan wanting to spend all his money to help the team, not really sure he can help.
Wait a minute? More money than Oprah, and sells drugs?...does he own the SF Giants too by chance???....

Let me think.. who owns the Rexall brand?? Daryl Katz! Hes already got his corp name on the building.. Just sell him the contents already!
